Meet the Farmers:
Kristen and Zach are both Monmouth County natives and graduated from Rutgers University.
However, it’s the love of food that brought them together - at the old Mumford’s Culinary Center. It’s the love of food that also brought about the idea of buying The Farm.
The ideas supporting the endeavor were that the farm could provide a homestead, provide fresh food for the community, and provide wholesome work for family and friends. But most of all, it could provide a sustainable future and food security. Farm work is hard work, but it’s worth it, and having a piece of land to cultivate in today’s day and age is extremely valuable.
Zach and Kristen continue to work their full-time jobs, in addition to working the land. They plan to continue to expand The Farm operation with a goal of reaching complete sustainability.
